1 Litre of Premium Polyurethane Adhesive for flocking applications.

PU 34017 Polyurethane Flocking Adhesive (previously Thermonex PU1) has been specially designed to be used for a wide range of flocking applications. PU 34017 is a two component water-based polyurethane adhesive used for flocking on plastic substrates like ABS and pre-treated PP, as well as metals and a wide range of other substrates. PU 34017 exhibits an excellent film formation even when thickly applied, and produces a durable finish with high mechanical strength and very high water resistances. It is suitable for application by various means (including spray gun) and has a 10minute open time.

PU 34017 Adhesive should be mixed thoroughly with the PU 34017 Hardener at a ratio of 20 parts resin to 1 part hardener (20:1). PU 34017 can be cured at room temperature at 18-24°C, with full cure and final properties occuring after 3-5 days. The hardener is available in clear, blue and black, the colours acting as a pigment. Heat can be used to accelarate the curing process, but must not exceed 80°C.

PU 34017 is commonly used as a replacement for solvent based adhesives for automotive interiors and trim.

There are various ways to apply this adhesive and the following methods can be used (although some will be more successful after the viscosity of the adhesive has been reduced):

•    Paint Brush
•    Paint Roller
•    Spray Gun

The adhesive must not be applied to any part of the substrate that does not require flocking. Those areas should be covered with a mask or sealed off with masking tape.
